Newsletter April-2012

From the Director’s Desk

Dear Parents,

Spring has sprung! We are looking forward with excitement to the warmer weather and springtime flowers. Easter this month is on April 4th. Discovery Corner will have its annual Egg Hunt on April 2nd, 2010.

Preschool and Pre-k had their annual Hop-A-Thon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association last week. The school donated $50.00 toward this important cause. I believe this is a great way for the children to learn about their muscles, physical disabilities, and the concept that “everybody’s different, nobody’s perfect.”

During the week of April 11 to 17th, we will be celebrating the

“Week of the Young Child”. This year the theme is “Early Years are Learning Years”. During the week, we will be handing out information from local libraries and Barnes & Nobel on celebrations they will be holding for the week of the young child. On Wednesday April 14th we are asking that all the children come to school dressed up as one of their favorite book characters.

In addition, this month is the celebration of Earth Day. The teachers will be focusing on the importance of the environment while participating in outdoor activities and art activities.

Finally, we are sending out parent surveys that need to be returned by April, 9th. Your opinion is valuable to me and I hope everyone fills out the forms and return them.

 Thank You,

Nina Turner
